The Department of Physics was established in 1972 to provide the best and most affordable physics education to all rural students. Prof. L. R. Shirgave was appointed in the year 1972 and he was the first head of the department of physics. Prof. S. B. Wanje joined the department in 1979 as a lecturer in physics. The physics department has started a new course in Electronics in the year 1983. Prof. G. D. Bagade joined the department in 1985 as a lecturer in electronics. Dr. R. N. Khule was appointed as a lecturer in Physics/electronics in the year 1988 and later on Mr. U. S. Chonde joined the department in year 1989. According to the policy of S. R. T. M. U. Nanded, there was a separate Board of Studies for the subject of electronics. Because of that, Prof. Bagade G. D. took charge of the Head of the Department of Electronics in the year 2006. He was elected as a Dean of the faculty of Science in the S. R. T. M. U. Nanded. Meanwhile, he was selected as the Principal of Mahatma Gandhi College at Ahmedpur. He left our college and joined as a Principal of that college.After him Mr.U.S.Chonde took the charge of Head of department in 2007. One of the faculty members Dr. Khule R. N. became the Head of the Department of Electronics. Mr. Agrawal S. T. from Adarsh College Hingoli who was surplus faculty joined our department in the year 2013. He left the department of this college in 2016 and joined the Department of Electronics at Shivaji College, Udgir as per the order of joint director of Higher Education, Nanded. Recently in April 2023, two faculty members joined in new recruitment process Miss S. K. Jogdand and Mr S. M. Kokulwar both are well qualified. Currently, 3 faculty members are working in the Physics department and after Dr.R.N.Khule retirement on April 2025 after him Mr.S.M. Kokulwar took the charge of Head of Department of Electronics department. Now Department has a well-established laboratory and can carry out various experiments and projects in Physics and Electronics. Alumni of the department serve in various institutes as Teachers, Assistant Professor, Associate Professors, Librarian, Principal, and other government departments. It continuously strives for the enrichment of the Science and development of the Logical sense of the students. The department also focuses on developing its ability to understand scientific approaches in a true sense. We ensure that students of the department grow as capable individuals who can cope with adversities of the life and career
