The college was established in 1959 the department of History started at the same time. Shri M. V Sahasrabudhe joined the college as a principal in 1961 His profound study in history and his personal popularity in the region led strong foundation of the department. He resigned and left in 1963. Shri A. T. Londhe took over the responsibility to run the department as a lecturer and then he was promoted to the post of Principal of this college, in 1967.In 1969 he resigned and left the college. Shri N.N. Aneraowas appointed as a lecturer in this department in 1969, he helped to promote historical studies in the college and also took charge as a 2 Lt in the NCC. He left in 1972. Shri M. V. Sahasrabudhe was appointed as a principal of the college in 1972 to 1976. It was in 1973 that P. G. department was established by the efforts of Principal and his influence in 1969 Shri M. V. Shendge was given appointment in this department. It was now full-fledged department and took rapid steps in teaching history. We made this subject popular among the students. Shri D. G.Bachate joined the department in 1974. His affinity towards the students made the department yet more popular and interesting during this time under his leadership along with ten teachers& 5 non-teaching staff and 80 students participated in the Killari Earth Queck Relief Work in 1993. He successfully discharged duty of NCC Officer and through his persistent efforts and hard work he was promoted to the post of Major. He maintained discipline in the college and NCC camp.Moreover, he was selected as a Contingent Officer for the Republic Day Parade at Delhi. He conducted free of charge MPSC classes for the college students and other student of Kandhar town. In 1975 Shri V. M. Kurude appointed as a lecturer in this dept. We had a good team to impart higher teaching to PG students during his time. He was coopted to Board of Studies in History in the Marathwada University, Aurangabad for the tenure of 5 years. Further he was coopted to the Dept of Social Science Committee of S. R. T. M. University, Nanded. He served as a member of the 32(4) Committee at S. R. T. M. University,Nanded.Almost all of our staff of the department has been subject expert. Kum. Zeenat Begum Sd Mazar Ali was appointed as a lecturer in 1983. She completed her Ph.D. work under UGC scheme. ‘The position of Muslim women under the Nizam in Hyderabad state' is the title of her thesis. These effortsinculcated the students and staff to develop interest in research work Kum.Chitra. K. Dhondge (Mrs.ChitraPatilLungare) joined the department in 1988. We had two women lecturers which helped to attract girls towards higher education.Further she was elected on various institutional and corporate posst in the Kandhar taluka &Maharashtra State. Shri Dr. Anil Kathare was appointed as a lecturer in the department in 1990.He had research attitude right from the beginning of his career.He was undertaking research work leading to M.Phil. He was awarded M.Phil. Degree in 1991. He commenced his research work leading to Ph.D. and he was awarded the degree of Ph. D in 1998. The title of his researchwork (ShivkalwaPeshwaitilMaharanchaSamajikwaArthikItihas). He is research guide approved by S. R. T. M. University Nanded&YeshwantraoChavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik. 30 students are undergoing research work for Ph.D. under his guidance and 5 students has been awarded M.Phil. Degree. He was awarded prize from Govt. of Maharashtra for quality research work and for historical writings. Further he was given National award for excellent Social Work. He is elected as a President, Vice President and Joint Secretary and a Member of Executive Council on various history subject bodies & corporate bodies. He was elected as The Chairman of BoS in History of S. R. T. M. University Nanded. He has written 75 books and edited 09 books. He also published 96 research papers and participated in various history conference and workshops. Dr. Vijaya K. Sakhare was appointed as an Assit. Prof. in the department in 2011 she had research attitude right from the beginning of his career she was undertaking research work leading to M.Phil. She was awarded M.Phil. Degree in 2008.She commenced her research work leading to Ph.D. and she was awarded the degree of Ph. D in 2008. The title of her research work (NandedJilhatilPurattvaEkAbhyas). She is research guide approved by S. R. T. M. University Nanded&YeshwantraoChavan Maharashtra Open University, Nashik.08 students have been awarded Ph.D. under her guidance and 03 students are undergoingfor Ph. D.She was coopted as Member of BoS of S. R. T. M. University Nanded. He has written 75 books and edited 09 books. He also published 96 research papers and participated in various history conference and workshops. Dr. Subhash R. Ragade was appointed as an Assit. Prof. in the department in 2023.He had research attitude right from the beginning of his career. He Passed NET in 2006. He commenced his research work to Ph.D. in 2008 & wasawarded the degree of Ph. D in 2016. The title of his research work (KinwatTalukyatil (Ji. Nanded) UpekshitBhillaJamat: EkAitihasikAbhayas).He has written 02 books and edited 06 books. He also published 26 research papers and participated in various history conference and workshops. Mr. Vikas S. Perke was appointed as an Assit. Prof. in the department in 2023. He had research attitude right from the beginning of his career he isundergoing research work for Ph. D. from 2014, the title his thesis is Sane GurujiYanchyaManvmuktichyaSangharashachaAitihasikAdhava.He Passed NET in 2013. Now department has Techears eligible to run U. G., P. G. & Research Centre efficiently. It has three Ph. D. holder Techears.
